How it works

A card, an envelope and one important question

  1. Write your card

Their name, your name and up to 500 characters of message. Stuck? Tap one of the ideas and change it to sound like you.

  2. Seal it

Pick a design and press the button. You get a link to send and a status link to keep for yourself.

  3. They open it

A sealed envelope, then your card, then “Will you be my Valentine?” with a runaway No. Your status page shows when they answer.

What to write

Will you be my Valentine card ideas: what to write

The best Valentine messages are short, specific and sound like you. A good formula: one thing you notice about them + how they make you feel + the question. The card asks the question for you at the end, so your message can focus on the first two.

Sweet

  • You’re my favourite notification.
  • Every day with you is my favourite day. Here’s to more of them.
  • I still smile when I think about the day we met.

For a crush

  • I’ve wanted to ask you this for a while, and a card felt braver than a text.
  • Talking to you is the best part of my day. I’d like more days like that.

Funny

  • Roses are red, violets are blue, I’d share my fries with no one but you.
  • I like you more than coffee. Please don’t tell the coffee.
  • You’re the cheese to my pizza. I’m not sure what that makes me, but it’s a compliment.

Long distance

  • Different time zones, same heart. Counting the days.
  • Miles apart, but you’re still the first person I want to tell everything.

Questions

E-card FAQ

Is the e-card free?

Yes. Writing, sending and tracking a card is free, with no sign-up and no limit.

What does the person I send it to see?

A sealed envelope with their name on it. When they tap “Open it”, the card slides out with your message. After that they get the question, “Will you be my Valentine?”, with a Yes button and a No button that runs away. Saying yes sets off a heart shower.

How do I know if they opened it?

Keep the status link you get after sealing the card. It shows whether the card was opened and when they said Yes.

Can the card ask “Would you be my Valentine?” instead?

Yes. Pick the question at the end when you write the card: “Will you be my Valentine?”, “Would you be my Valentine?”, “Will you be mine?” or “Do you wanna be my Valentine?”. It becomes a “would you be my Valentine” card, envelope and all.

Can I send it by email?

Yes. Press Email to open your mail app with the link filled in, or copy the link into any email, text or chat.

Do you keep my message?

The card (names, message and design) is saved on our server so your link can show it. We don’t ask for your email or phone number. See the privacy policy for details.
