    Your name shows who’s asking. With their name added, the question reads “Will you go to prom with me, Jordan?”

  2. Pick the ask

    “Will you go to prom with me?”, “Will you be my prom date?”, the bold one-word “Prom?”, or your own words. Add a secret note with the plan.

  3. Send it, then check

How to ask someone to prom without the awkward part

A promposal works best when the other person already has a good idea the answer is yes. The fun is in the asking, not in the surprise of the question. A few things that help:

  • Ask early. Most schools in the US hold prom between late April and early June, and tickets, outfits and rides take planning. Asking three to six weeks ahead gives you both time.
  • Match their style. If they love a big moment, pair the link with a sign or a poster (our printable sign maker can put the question and a QR code on one page). If they’re shy, a private link is kinder than a hallway crowd.
  • Keep it about them. Put their name in the question and an inside joke in the secret note. That’s what makes it feel personal.
  • Have a plan for the answer. Know what you’ll say about tickets, matching colours and who’s driving. The secret note is a good place for it: “I’ll bring the corsage. Match my tie?”
  • Going with friends? Choose “Write my own” and ask “Will you go to prom with us?” for a group plan.

Is the promposal link free?

Yes. The link, the wording options, the No-button styles, the secret note and the tracker are all free, with no account. Make as many as you like.

What does my date see?

A dark purple “prom night” page with gold accents, your name, your question and two buttons. The No button runs away (or shrinks, teleports or keeps asking “Are you sure?”, depending on what you picked). When they press Yes, they get a celebration and your secret note.

How will I know if they said yes?

Open the tracker link you get after creating the promposal. It shows whether the link was opened and when they pressed Yes, and it refreshes by itself while it’s open.

Can I use it for homecoming, formal or a school dance?

Yes. Choose “Write my own” and ask “Will you go to homecoming with me?” or “Formal?”. Everything else works the same.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in any modern browser, including the ones inside Instagram, Snapchat and WhatsApp. There’s nothing to install.
